Married in the Mountains!

Tagged Under : ,

My eldest sister Darlene (there are 6 girls in my family) married her long-time love Cory in Jasper over the week-end.  The moment I met Cory I instantly liked him and went as far to tell Dar that if for some reason it didn’t work out between them, he would still be part of the family.  Lucky for us, their love evolved just as we’d hoped, and I’m so happy to now call him my brother-in-law.
The ceremony was held at the Lobstick Lodge which overlooks the beautiful mountains of Jasper.  My sister was glowing with happiness as she walked down the aisle.  Our Mom and Cory’s Mom stood up for the couple with pride.

With family and friends dabbing the tears from their eyes, the happy couple exchanged vows.

Sealed with a kiss!

They exit as husband and wife!

We took a few pictures on the balcony before getting ready to head out to Pyramid Lake for more pictures.

We wait in the lobby [...]

Oh Lord, Help Me Fast!

ISAIAH 58:6
“…let the oppressed go free.”

Here we are standing in the doorway of another year.  As a church family, we have decided to dedicate this time of the year to God.  That’s right - a corporate fast!  Yes!  No, we’ve not gone crazy, in fact, we are practicing a Biblical principle that has been overlooked for way too long.   In fact, the Bible actually hits on fasting 69 times.  That is a 3 to 1 ratio on regards to prayer.  For every three times prayer is taught in Scripture, fasting is taught once.  Yet we certainly don’t hear about fasting very much at all.  It’s sad that as we lose our influence in the world for Christ, the church has all but forsaken something that grabs the heart of God.

Fasting is a great way to cut away the PROPS we have become so dependant upon to get us through the [...]

Part 2 - Holiday Craze

Tagged Under :

Otherwise known as the Holiday Craze, the crazy holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) have finally come to an end for the Moseley household.  To summarize the past month and a half, we made a batch of wine for Christmas gifts, celebrated Thanksgiving with friends, celebrated Christmas with family that came to Colorado, and celebrated New Years eve/day in Breckenridge.
We wrote about the wine making and Thanksgiving in Part 1 of the holiday craze.  For Part 2, we’re going to write about the lighting of downtown Littleton after TG and the first portion of Christmas.
Lighting of Downtown Littleton

The lighting of the old downtown Littleton is fun little event that occurs each year on the night after TG.  Vendors line the streets, there is free hot cider and hot cocoa, all of the shops are open, and there is various entertainment such as carollers, fire dancers, and high school bands playing Christmas music.  [...]

Don’t you love weekends? Well, we certainly do. Besides having all of us at home enjoying family time, this weekend we actually had another fun opportunity to do the work we enjoy with a lovely family of David and Inna Tsvirinko. It was one of the best days of the year - sunny, but enjoyably cool! Cool is the word that also perfectly describes the couple we had to work with - just simply COOL. Thank you David, Inna and especialy Jaden for cooperating with us so smoothly - we had a blast and I hope you did as well. Here is just a sneak peak of it:

Wedding Post II - Tripping Out On Bison, Brownies & The Ramifications Of A No-Show

Tagged Under : ,

Each time I leave on a trip it takes at least 12 hours to pack & prepare for departure, some kind of OCD thing that kicks in & completely overwhelms me.  To add a kinky twist we went to our Wednesday night bowling league — we are dedicated athletes – then drove all night.
By arriving on Thursday we were able to visit with my aunt’s family before the onslaught of wedding guests.  We got to see their new home, which started out like this:

As if that wasn’t nice enough, they turned it into this:

My daughter got to visit with the new baby AND his big sister, my favorite grandmother’s namesake.  She was in heaven:

My uncle is one of the funniest, most interesting people in the entire world.  His entertainment center holds a total of seven televisions, which he watches simultaneously.  This masculine multi-tasking makes him THE MAN in my book, which is why he gets this incredibly creative [...]

Read Saif’s comment on yesterday’s post with much amusement. Ngombe indeed. What next !! Its most unfortunate. We just pray for a better Kenya soon.
My heart is very light today. Spent a most wonderful night with hubby. Oh so wonderful. He gave me lots of much needed attention and we just connected in a way that we haven’t done in ages.
Today is a celebration in the family. Wedding on my in laws side. I’m looking forward to it but a tad bit hesitant as well. We women were supposed to put henna today to mark this occasion. I forgot and I put henna for Idd. That created a bit of tension and a mild confrontation which I didn’t like and chose to ignore. I love Idd and it wouldn’t have been as festive for me I hadn’t had henna on. Quite [...]

First Trip

Tagged Under : ,

To celebrate the unseasonably warm weather, and to entertain the family staying with us, the first snorkelling trip of the season was had yesterday down at Clovelly.

Unfortunately the underwater camera is out to pasture at the moment, having leaked at some point in the past. Not a great amount of fish at the moment, bar a big school out in the deeper section, and a Port Jackson Shark snoozing on the floor.
Elissa made the most of it, having a bit of a kip on the towel back up with Mum.
