Woman set fire to husband’s genitals, Australian court told.

SYDNEY (AFP) - An Australian woman who allegedly set fire to her husband’s genitals because she believed he was having an affair appeared in court on a murder charge Monday.
After the fire spread through the family home, Rajini Narayan, 44, told neighbours she had only wanted to burn her husband’s penis “so it belongs to me and no one else,” prosecutors said.
“It’s just his penis I wanted to burn, I didn’t mean this to happen,” she was quoted as saying, the Adelaide Advertiser reported.
Prosecutors said Narayan’s engineer husband Satish was asleep in their double-storey Adelaide home when his wife doused his genitals with methylated spirit and set them on fire on December 8 last year.
The blaze spread when he jumped out of bed and knocked over the bottle of spirits, causing around a million dollars (700,000 US dollars) damage to the house and a neighbouring property, the court heard.

Third-Hand Smoke?

     We all know about first-hand smoke. This is the obvious one, where the person with the cigarette in their hand puts it onto their lips and inhales it deep into the lungs, holds it there for a second or four, then exhales, leaving the smoker feeling a bit of a relaxing, calming buzz.
     Then then there is the second-hand smoke. This is where a non-smoker is in the presence of a smoker. The smoker exhales and blows out smoke into the air, along with the burning cigarette. Air in which the non-smoker inhales.
     Then there is third-hand smoke.
     Third-hand smoke is where the smoke from a cigarette and out of a smoker’s lungs is absorbed into the area where the smoking occurs. It is absorbed into the carpet or upholstery of a car.
     It is absorbed in the carpet or furniture of a living room.
     It is even absorbed into the skin, clothes, and hair of the smoker, and even [...]

Another nail in the coffin of evangelical fundamentalist religion. Scientists have long wondered about the Clovis peoples seeming disappearance that coincided with the last of the Mega-Fauna in the Americas around 13,000-12,000 years ago. Yes, there were humans wandering around most of the USA territory at that time.

I don’t know of any legitimate scientists that deny the existence of the Clovis people or the populating of the Americas at that time in earths history. We know that the bloodlines/DNA come from Asia, which of course means that Asia was populated at that time. We don’t know the full story yet, but year-by-year it gets a little clearer.

Tonight the Ohio State Buckeyes play their bowl game against the Texas Longhorns. I think they’ve got a great chance of winning, but they are still the underdog. This picture is from Christmas Eve when I gave my mom an Ohio State T-shirt. It was a fun night filled with all kinds of home baked goodies, including sausage balls. Aimee and Julie really enjoyed themselves with some rudimentary wooden toys, while the rest of us enjoyed a good laugh. Aimee’s dad, Jack, joined in the fun with some of his own entertainment. I had a great time, but left 5 pounds heavier than when I arrived.

….Because You Can’t Read Others’ Hearts and Minds

*Don’t judge a book by its cover…*
That simple proverb is actually one of the most powerful and useful sayings.
Because we are all just normal human being with limited capabilities, we really CAN’T judge others solely based on our own perspective.
Just because we have been raised by certain kind of values, we still have NO RIGHT to expect others to have the same values…we just can’t.
Have you heard of “benefit of doubt”?
It is an idiom which means “to believe something good about someone, rather than something bad, when you have the possibility of doing either”.
I always…always….always (can’t emphasize on that enough) believe that there is a logical explanation behind every deed. People do things due to some reasons…
I also believe there is no real evil among people…just alot of those who have made bad decisions…

I hope everyone had fun bringing in 2009 ours was…different but nice.
I decided we needed to have a special New Year’s Eve dinner and to me special meant something I rarely have. Some people will usually use this type of moment to have lobster or steak or some dish that’s incredibly difficult to make but me? No. My choice dish was corndogs. Yes, corndogs. I had them a few times while I was pregnant with Bean and decided that tonight would be the last time I have a corn dog EVER. (and by ‘last time EVER’ I mean after the box of 14 that I bought are gone and if I should ever find myself in the family way again all bets are off…my definitions are way more fun that other people’s)

Congratulations Michael & Robyn!!

It’s a boy!! Noah Kingston Apgar was born this morning, weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and I’m sure Michael and Robyn couldn’t be happier to welcome their newborn son to the world. And I bet Hannah is pretty excited to be Noah’s big sister!
So a BIG Congratulations to Michael and Robyn, and best wishes to Robyn for a speedy recovery! Heather and I cannot wait to go see our little nephew Noah!
