The highlight of last week was going to the circus with Grandma and Poppa. I honestly think that’s the first time I’ve ever really been to the circus! (I vaguely remember going to a very small travelling circus that came through town once and my brothers and sisters got free tickets so we went and it was actually in a bigtop. But Ringling Bros. it was not.)
We went early and were able to see all the animals outside before the show. Then they had a preshow down on the floor of the Delta Center, excuse me, the Energy Solutions Arena. (I like the old name better.) That was a lot of fun. A really loved the clowns. He’s really developing a good sense of humor and was laughing so delightfully. I love his laugh.
We saw contortionists and acrobats.
The boys all got a chance to check out the motorcycles.
We briefly saw an elephant paint a picture, [...]

My little sister’s mawwidge is this Saturday. All week I’ve been going at a pace I haven’t for some time. There’s preparing for the weekly skewering in class on Thursday, then there’s all the primping and preparing to take care of before leafing town early Friday morning.
In this gear, I tend to eat very little and early evening nap time is suspended. Around this time, I’m likely running on empty. So, I’ll sleep it off. In the morning I’ll cook up some eggs to fuel up and plough through more bullets from the must get done list..
..because two huevos are better than uno huevo.
Bon nuit..

I’ve read so many news articles, accounts and blogs on the “Made in China with Melamine” case. I’ve even received a few emails detailing what other products out there are being checked for melamine contamination. I have to read labels of food products I regularly buy, just in case. But what about those using raw materials which could be contaminated? The labels do not inform us where the raw materials come from. What if? It gave me more shivers especially yesterday when a friend wrote in her Cogito ergo, scrap! blog about her experience when her kids had some stomach problems after eating some biscuits. It’s frightening that things could happen right there at our doorsteps. Just because some unscrupulous businesses are so greedy. They do not know the repercussions of their actions on the innocent. Let’s be vigilant and be aware of what we take in all the time.

Check this photo, quite bizarre but funny. When i was in the Chinese countryside a few weeks back near Wenzhou i was dragged into a chinese family photo (against my will). As can be seen from the photo, it was VERY early in the morning, and very bright outside, so i could barely open my eyes.

This afternoon we went to Phoenix to get fitted for our tuxedo’s for my daughter’s wedding.
I learned something from my tailor.
He told me, Your tuxedo fitting is an important part of your tuxedo rental. Without a good fitting, your tux will not hang right on your body and will not be comfortable. You should have two fittings. The first fitting happens when you first order your tuxedo. It shouldn’t take more than 10 to 20 minutes to get your initial fitting. The tailor will take your neck and sleeve size for your shirt, your waist and out seam for your trousers and chest for your coat size. The second final fitting will occur usually when you pick up the tuxedo to bring it home. It is basically a check of the first fitting to make sure everything fits correctly. A good fitting will insure the following:
1. The tuxedo jacket should [...]

Well, I thought if I could blog/journal here I could feel better about things.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a SAHM (Stay At Home Mom). I am married to a wonderful man and we have 2 hansome boys, I love them dearly. I love the computer and my new found joy sewing.
This blogs is for my journal, I feel I can and will write more honestly if I believe no one knows who I am. Thus the name Jane Doe. (By the way if you do happen to know who I am, please do not take offense to what I write, this is just my rantings-something everyone should do)

Just a little challenge for the day…
Put Something In
Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-gumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
‘Cross the kitchen floor.
Put something silly in the world
That ain’t been there before.
~ Shel Silverstein, A Light in the Attic
Gotta love the message! Today is October 1st. Starting today, why not put something in your day that makes the day a little sillier, brighter? Go ahead… see what you come up with.
Shel Silverstein is one of my favorite authors. His children’s books include The Giving Tree, The Missing Piece Meets the Big O, Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic. My aunt gave me Where the Sidewalk Ends in 1979 for my birthday. I have lost count how many times I have read this book in whole or in parts. I hope you enjoy this selection (and others to come) its one of my favorites.
