I have a very dear friend of mine that I often refer to as “My sister from another Mister”. She has taken up photography for a hobby and the more of her work I see the more I have been ecouraging her to open her won business.
She resently took a complete set of family photographs for some family members of ours. In an attempt to help my girlfriend I tried once again to digi scrap.

OK, perhaps, were my daughter to read that, she might freak a little. But I’m not talking about her exact breasts. Just, well, more the concept of breasts. Of how breasts on daughters make mothers feel.
I own a rather ordinary, run-of-the-mill pair. They’ve only turned on me once, a false alarm while we waited for the very daughter in question. Turns out that funny shadow on the mammogram that had to be removed without delay wasn’t any big deal after all. So, one of mine has a scar. They’ve never done anything miraculous like feed another human being, but they’ve satisfactorily filled out my sweaters over the years. We women often have sort of a love/hate relationship with our breasts - we’re proud of them, then wonder why the hell everyone else (read: males) seems so intensely interested in them.
I suppose if I’d given birth to my daughters [...]

Meggers couldn’t wait for it to get dark so she could show Kaya how her Daddy had decorated the house for Christmas. She flipped the switch and pointed out all the different lights and they both watched our pengiun on it’s igloo slowly inflate.
Our Cute Christmas Lights (sorry it’s a little dark)!
It was such a nice night we sat out for a little bit and had a giggle or two with the girls. Please pay no attention to my reeeeally bad hair, seriously need to get those roots taken care of..lol
Once the girls were done with the lights we thought it would be fun to go inside and have a little treat, the girls decided they wanted to make mini ice cream cones with sprinkles. Yum!
I chased them around the house for a few more cute pics
Then we made them tidy their mess
bathed and put them to bed

As the daylight lingers longer each day, the more carnivorous folk start salivating in anticipation. Barbecue season approaches, liberating meat lovers from the less-flavorful pan-fried steak or bland poached chicken breasts. Likewise, the vegetarians in the family rejoice in the prospect of grilled summer squash or roasted beets and corn, rather than settling for another head of iceberg lettuce and canned beans. For juicy burgers and veggie kabobs at home or at the lake, industry leader Weber offers their portable Q-100 gas grill. The propane grill employs an 8,500-BTU stainless-steel burner to heat its 189-square-inch cooking area. Weber crafted the grill’s lid and body in tough cast aluminum with a sturdy glass-reinforced nylon frame. The grill ignites at the push of a button for reliable lighting, and an infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator makes it easy to control the heat. Meat sizzles on the porcelain-enameled [...]

The glossy pamphlets flood in: “Live, study, and work in both sleek high-rise towers and turn-of-the-century brownstones,” reads the gorgeously thick Boston University brochure. “Win a Hummer. All you have to do is attend an SJSU football game” trumpets San Jose State University’s.
As kids fill out their college applications amidst the shrinking of parents’ college savings and the drying up of student loans, colleges continue brand-name campaigns set in motion well before the economic crisis.
The slick brochures stuffing mailboxes reflect schools’ desire to plump up demand, raising their rankings with US News & World Report and other magazines. The schools aim to boost their “selectivity,” a ranking factor based on the percentage of applicants denied admission. That’s why colleges push their brand names, luring students to apply — so the school can reject large numbers.
“All colleges say they are highly selective and then encourage us all to apply,” one high [...]

Since I’m home for the Thanksgiving weekend, I figured I’d compose a bunch of questions relating to childhood and hometowns. Many of these assume you have parents who are still alive and a ‘normal’ upbringing (you know, nuclear family and all), so please accept my apologies if this isn’t the case and feel free to adjust the question if at all possible (by going back in time or thinking about your own children perhaps) to fit your own situation.
1) Last week, I used nothing but my hypnotic good looks and the enchanting sound of my typing to send you back to your teenage years and have you recall some notable pop culture experiences from that time in your life. Now I want to take you back further, to your earlier childhood, when you were still cute and innocent, your mind a relatively blank slate, with only thousands of media impressions [...]

So, I couldn’t wait to post all of my Saturday excitement. Jon and I started our weekend by getting up early to go to my middle school mock trial competitions. Selfishly, I didn’t want our team to do too well because I was getting very burned out of coaching three teams, BUT I wanted them to do well so that they would continue to participate in the program for years to come, so I didn’t know how to pray. Well, God knows how to answer prayers in the best way possible. Our team finished second. We did not lose any of our rounds, instead, we lost on speaker points. Our team was SO excited, and they did VERY well in the rounds. I coached the defense side, and that’s who you will see in the pictures.
After the competition, Jon and I went to Haverty’s to buy nightstands for our bedroom. Another exciting thing [...]

Today is our daughter’s 3 month birthday. In fact, this post was published exactly 3 months to the minute after her birth. I can’t believe how fast that time has gone by.
This week my wife started a new blog. Her first post was a narrative of the day our daughter was born. Check it out.
Happy birthday, my little baby angel.
